Elysium
The streets are alive with the sounds of death.
This city is our only paradise.
18+ themes. lotsa them.
the verse.
It all happened outta nowhere. Yeah, the end of the world. News outlets were how most people found out. The others found out from their neighbors biting into their fucking neck. They turned, they bit into the necks of their family and together ripped their guts out. They multiplied like flies. More and more stumbled through the streets. There's only so much that can happen before people get overwhelmed. Cities got taken over - and only a few areas stayed safe. They aren't your average 'walking dead' stumbling and dumb infected, neither. They've got some brain in that decaying head of theirs. The most recently turned are some of the most deadly. The others are the ones infected by patient zero. The virus seems to get weaker the further it gets from the first - and a limiter seems to be applied, but there's no running from death. Just how much you become a danger to the ones that are still alive.
London - or as every one of the survivors calls it nowadays: ELISIA; the safe-haven of England, formed during the desperate times of Quarantine.
Government's had planes and shit flying over Elisia, sending packages of food and water, clothes, and stuff - but that shit was limited. It went fast. And the survivors knew that. So, they split up, and they'll fight to the death for those packages - because if they don't get it, they may as well be free food for the walkers.
But, even the safe-houses aren't that safe. Those things are still around. They're just fewer than most places. The worst places are what the adults call the Infested. They work kinda like vampires. The daylight makes them tamer - they won't run as much as the virals do. But in pitch darkness, all walkers are deadly. They run, leap, and attack like the recently turned. Most 'Infested' are abandoned areas like factories or subways. But they aren't the real threat. People have become toxic - selfish. A few rose up in power. Created gangs, groups, shit like that. They do nothing but torture, pillage, and take. Why am I being so descriptive? 'cause this isn't a fairy tale. there's not gonna be a 'happy ending'. There's only gonna be blood and death. That's something we cannot change no matter how hard we fucking try.
Do you know what's fucked up, though? I don't think these people are dead. Folks've been calling them 'turned', 'infected', 'undead'. But, I swear to fucking god I heard one of these motherfuckers mutter words, real words at me - it was enough to stop my swing.
I think these... things are alive... is that - is that wrong? God - I just want this whole thing to be over...
Whatever. I'll just keep an eye on everything... Write it down, log it. Maybe there's some solution in all of this.

( as can be read, this is a zombie apocalypse based verse ran by @saltustis.
Storyline-based, timeline-featured. Activity fluctuating. The world changes with nearly every action, every decision that any character makes. If I miss something, feel free to dm me.
No one is all-powerful. No one is superhuman. Everyone is skin and bones. There are few that are lucky - few that are immune to the devil's curse, but even those people should not be as foolish to think they are invincible. Your character will be thrown into scenarios that are meant to test both your and their ability. Keep in mind, you are allowed to remake/make characters of your own volition if yours has perished.
Also keep in mind that While your characters may be immune, they will likely not know they are unless they've already been bit. No meta-ing, please.
Have fun and stay alive. )
WHAT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?
So you're new to the verse, huh? I'll put this here to keep track of events currently going on.
Right now, imagine the outbreak just occurred. The story of how your character survived. How their families did or didn't. What they had to do to get where they are.
This story starts two years after the outbreak. A lot of people dead. A handful still standing. Make a backstory. Justify their position. Survive.
the world.
The world of Elisia is split into five districts separated by walls. These walls can be passed through legitimately or snuck through so long as you know how to.
FIRST DISTRICT: The district with the Solitude tower. The tower is an extension of Big Ben - and their walls surround from St. James to Belgravia. Since the Infected aren't one to swim very well, they lack walls around the Thames River. Use that knowledge however you will.
SECOND DISTRICT: From Prince's to Waterloo. This area is controlled by the Blues - and is connected to the first via an infested bridge. They wall off the rivers, unlike district one.
THIRD DISTRICT: The border of the City of London. Their protection is the infestation surrounding them - and those still caught inside. The most unsafe city, controlled by Aviary - a violent gang formed surrounding the Apocalypse.
FOURTH DISTRICT: A flourish on the Isle of Dogs - a small city built on the backs of survivors. No one really knows of this city, and no one really wants to venture that far for a rumor.
FIFTH DISTRICT: Walls surrounding Camberwell and Herne Hill. It's abandoned - infested with the horde. But no one knows this. It seems to be recent.
The world is looted, but it is thriving in its own way. Some houses may contain things - but don't expect a 'jackpot' in every single abandoned home you visit. Likes is, someone already got to it first, or they just didn't have anything useful. Use your resources to your advantage. Be creative... And use your weapons sparingly. Ammo is scarce, especially after the initial reactions people had of the infection. Melee weapons are more dangerous to use, but at least they won't make problems ten times worse.
Shift the gears.
Believe it or not - you can change this world - for better, worse, or for your own selfish desires. Everyone has that ability - but how strong that ability is, is based upon your interaction with the world and how hard you try.
Volatility - a person's capability of making tough choices with large consequences. The higher the volatility, the more unforeseen, more large the consequences.

the survivors.
there are way too many people to keep track of. It's like there are new faces I've never seen every day. Here's some of the well-known. some changed their names because they felt their names don't matter.
(pre-made, though they are, they lack proper description because you have the ability to make this character yours. develop your way. More will be made as the verse grows.
The option for your own character is always open.
Dm if you'd like your own faction, or to join a faction with an OC. )
solitude | The tower.
named after the tall building being the only one within a few blocks. This is a home for those without one.
ZACH - Cool guy. Probably, anyway. It's hard to tell with that guy - he keeps a stern face on like half of the time. A natural leader and smart as all hell. He leads a faction inside a large skyscraper depleted of infected. He calls it 'solitude'.
Unknown Immunity.
Sara - Phil's right-hand. She's to-the-point and she'll bite harder than a biter would. Don't get on her bad side.
Unknown Immunity.
taken // nathan - A reckless boy with a little bit of vigor. He's always out and on his feet, trying to help in any way he can despite his youth. sara keeps him in check. He's on the sidelines. If something is happening - he is likely watching.
unknown immunity.
Poppy - A small girl with a soft heart and a secret darker side. An angel with horns.
Immune - Hides her bite. It's unknown to her comrades.
AVIARY | The subway.
They seek to take and take - the strongest survive. They use hordes to protect their home.
Cardinal - an alias. He is a man with an intimidating intelligence comparable to the other leaders. He asserts his dominance to the citizens of Elisia. Despite his reputation - he is actually a small man, broken and frail.
Unknown Immunity.
Vulture - larger than even cardinal - but, mainly brawn rather than brains. His presence is enough to strike fear into those without a sound mind. Strong as all hell.
No immunity - under suppressants.
reserved // Sparrow - A girl taken into the aviary - and Cardinal's younger sister. She ages around Nathan's age. Her heart seems to be in the right place despite her brother twisting her thoughts.
Immune. Hasn't been bit.
the blues | The streets of LONDON.
The new york government's last stand. Their morals are selfish despite also being for the betterment of others and everyone. The big picture. They consist of mainly military and police operatives. They have a rigged approach to law and order. They make the streets safe - but only for those who side with them.
They have a heads-up on the immunity of the human race. They can tell someone's immunity based on blood-tests, and thus - only put their immune on the frontlines.
General Harrison - A strong body and mind with leadership qualities that outshine all else, despite his young age. He has a good heart - but keeps it hidden. He focuses on the future.
Immune.
Commander Jun-Shi - a tough gal that would do anything for Harrison and this world. Her loyalty knows no bounds.
Immune
Private Lancaster - A young boy still struggling to adapt - but, wants to better himself. Prone to panicking every-so-often.
Immune. Bit.
The brave, the crazy, the lonely. | Lone Wolves.
Those who have no pack.
Those who feel safer alone.
Those still looking for a home to come home to.
reserved // aurora - A young girl with a fragile mind. She shouldn't be there alone. But, she was thrown to the wolves - because of the bite she wears. Luckily for her, the bite seems to not do much.
Immune. Bit.
neutral.

the INFECTED.
here are the things that separated us as described by Nate.
(more to be added.)
Biters: these guys are pretty slow and manageable when they're alone. It doesn't mean you should let your guard down, though. They're always in the most inconvenient places at the most inconvenient of times. And more often than not, they're in overwhelming numbers.
Decayed: The least dangerous. Infected still seem to age, and the old move through their bodies at a faster rate. Though they still fight to stay alive, they can hardly move their bodies. Just watch out.
Runners: Make a loud noise? Accidentally set off a car alarm? Pull the trigger? Well, these guys are gonna head towards you. They run like athletes - they are the remnants of the recently infected. They mutter things under their breath. Please help... I don't feel good... Don't let it stop you. They aren't human. Not anymore. Don't expect climbing onto something will help you from these guys - they have claws that help them scale buildings. Either kill them, or you better fucking start running.
'sploders: I don't have an explanation for these ugly-ass motherfuckers. It seems maybe their 'decomposing' didn't go too hot. Or they got a bit too much to eat. Either way - they run towards ya' and try to blow ya' up, using their own ribcage as shrapnel to scatter your remains for the biters. Five meters. That's your safe-zone. So long as you don't mind a lot of blood on ya', anyway.
Brutes: Those big motherfuckers you thought would survive this apocalypse longer than you. Now, here they are - big as fuck and strong as fuck. And dead. Takes a couple of people to take one down smoothly - or one person with a lot of speed and an endless amount of vigilance. Most of them seem to be jailbreakers that took advantage of the end of the world but never made it far.
Spitters: Mutated from prolonged exposure to the virus. Their tongues shriveled up and hang out of their mouths - and they spit acid made from their saliva. Shit burns, but it doesn't infect you. Thank fuck.
Screamers: Kids that couldn't make it out. They're in a constant state of fear. They scream at decibels that nearly rupture the eardrums upon encountering others - attracting zombies and disorienting those close enough.
Nightmares: Fucking freaks. They're harmed by the sun like vampires - so, they come out at night. They're called nightmares for a reason. They're mutated beyond comprehension. They can jump high and run really fuckin' fast. They have massive jaws and sharp teeth. And, if that isn't shuddering enough, they also have a mouth on their chest - where you can see a heart, surrounded in muscle. No matter what you do, don't look back. Just keep running. Climbing. Don't go down like that.
Aphyxers: they seem to be female versions of what spitters would become. Their tongues can't stay in their mouths - but, they seem to be able to control it - and extend it to its fullest length like a fucking tendril. It'll wrap itself around your neck or torso if you're not careful. And those risky enough to leap aimlessly through London better watch their legs.
RARE: Amalgamation: I've only seen one of these things - but they seem to be a result of extensive exposure of decayed infected with limited brain activity. They look as though they are a mix of large mutations, but they can barely move. Even then, they're still dangerous - and they don't seem to want to go down.
RARE: HIVE-MIND: These infected have been able to learn and adapt to the movements of humans. And, the thing is - they look just like virals. They are the strongest when they look like they're alone. But, never expect to be safe. The hive-mind is many infected acting as a single unit - flanking and using team-work to take down a human. Luckily, they're few and far between... but even then - Be unpredictable.
